Tromboranga symbolizes the long lasting cultural reach of salsa through decades of evolution across the world’s borders. A Barcelona-based family of Venezuelans, Colombians, Cubans, Peruvians and Spaniards draw on the classic Fania sound of the 1970s to produce hypnotic grooves driven by rocket-powered trombones. It’s a fusion of traditions that reaches beyond the identity of national flags to deliver an irresistible sound that also speaks to the hardworking honesty of immigrant populations that enrich our lives.

Biography

As part of the new generation of independent latin orchestras, Tromboranga is the pure essence of “Salsa Dura”. Tromboranga´s spicy ingredients are the trombones sound, solid and strong percussion, and they recover the essence of “soneos” (voice improvisation among the chorus). With influences from the salsa music from the 60s and 70s, maintaining a raw, strong and a very danceable sound. His original songs like "Humildad", "Palo pa la campana", "Ah Caraj", "Mi China Colombiana", talks about stories that can describe the life of any of us, and they have become number one in Latin radios and dance floors worldwide.
Hits like “Kumbele Kutimba,” “Agua Que Va Caer,” “Palo pa’ la campana,” “El cuero del tambor,” “Ah Caraj,” and “Mi China Colombiana” have topped Latin radio charts and become anthems on international dance floors. With lyrics that tell real, relatable stories, their music speaks to the soul and moves your body.
Tromboranga is made up of musicians from the Caribbean and Europe, all residents of Barcelona, Spain.

Their first EP "Agua que va caer" hits the market in November 2011 in anticipation for the first official cd "Salsa Dura" (April 2012), considered by latin music lovers, DJs, dancers and specialize salsa bloggers among the 10 best CDs of 2012. Also recorded a CD together with Bloque 53 "Tumba Puchunga" where the song "Me alborotas" and also "Tumba Puchunga" reached number one in many Latin radios listings.

In April 2013 the new cd "Al mal tiempo buena salsa", take them to do their first world tour in Spain, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands, Tunisia, Germany and Colombia. In November 2013 they release a L.P. Vinyl Special Limited Edition (only 300 copies) called "Solo para coleccionistas Vol. 1”. They are invited to do 4 concerts at one of the biggest salsa festivals in the world “La Feria de Cali” and Pereira, Colombia. The 4 concerts were filled in its entirety. Since then the followers and fans of the band call themselves "Salseros Tromborangueros".

In 2014 visit Mexico on a tour of four dates, all concerts were sold out and the public had the opportunity to hear some songs from the 4th Album called "Salsa pa' rato", with 10 new original tracks.

From “Salsa pa´rato” album the track "Palo pa la campana" is already a hit among salsa dancers, been between top 10 salsa dancing songs of 2014. Also "Sentimiento Caleño", a song dedicated to the city of Cali. Songs with social messages like "Esclavo de tu apariencia", "No tengo pa pagar" and "Como la marea" also known for their catchy tune.

2015 arrives with new album “Golpe con Melodía” , with 8 new hard and raw salsa tunes, and great swing for dancers, with songs like “Golpe con Melodía”, son montuno “Carretera” and a cover of “La mafia”. And a extensive tour in Colombia, Ecuador and in USA for the first time in cities like New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and many more.

In 2016 the songs “Ah Caraj, aquí que pasó”, “Cambumbo”, “El rey sin corona”, “No me vuelvo a enamorar”and “Mi China Colombiana” from new album “Sangre Sudor y Salsa” are already on every salsa Dj set. Also they release amazing new videos from this songs. In 2016 they have long tour from Japan to Russia, from USA to United Kingdom and all Europe.

In October 2017 they released “Tumbando Fronteras” (Grooving Frontiers), a strong album with lots of message on lirycs about the world today, mixed with groovy rhythms from salsa, mambo, son montuno to pachanga. “Otro ladrillo en la pared” (another brick in the Wall), “Guaguanco pal barrio” (Guaguanco for my neighborhood), “Y no lo digo yo” (It aint me who says it) are already popular songs on latin radios and dance floors. Tromboranga music is also used in diferent TV shows in Europe, including the Tv show “Salsa” in Russia, has won the “Lukas Awards” “European act of the year 2017” and 2018, also in Colombia, in Feria de Cali the song “Sentimiento Caleño” was on 4th place “Canción de La Feria year 2015”.

March 2019 released their 9th album called "Te voy a contar" (I´m gonna tell you). For this album, Joaquin Arteaga producer and timbalero, invited special guests from Puerto Rico such as Jimmy Bosch on "Te perdono", Ismael Miranda in "Huracán no me tumba", and arranger and multi-grammy award winner Oscar Hernandez, arranged the latin jazz tune "Sal de la cueva". Also songs like "Un extraterrestre" and "La moda" are now very popular among salsa dancers and Dj´s. An extensive world tour already began on 2019, with almost 20.000 people on first concert in Playas, Ecuador.

Despite the world pandemic on 2020, Tromboranga did not stop and recorded their masterpiece album called “Salsa Terapia” (Salsa Therapy), full of tasty groovy hard salsa. Songs like “El cuero del tambor”, “Devuelveme mis discos” “Pachanguera” and “El mundo al revés” are danced with choreographies on social media videos and played in latin radios all around the world.

Also in 2021 they released a special single sharing with African musicians, while they were on tour in South Africa with the special voice of Msaki, on a song called “Baila Africa” written by Joaquin Arteaga.

On 2023 their new album “SALSA CON GOLPE” with 9 new songs, had an amazing release with songs like "Kumbele Kutimba" "No llegues tarde" "Despechada" and "Fania Funche", all played on radios and salsa djs on salsa festivals. Their new live show on 2024 has an impresive performance where they jump and play between the dancers, turning into a great party anywhere the play live.

Other songs like "Agua que va caer", "Humildad", "Te provoca", "Adios que te vaya bien", "Mama Calunga", "amigo el raton", "Boogaloo Marilu", "Rompe colchon" are danced currently on the dance floor of salsotecas, dance schools, salsa parties and salsa festivals worldwide.
